Walk your property where the fence needs to be installed. Take measurements and sketch the layout including: • Length of each run • Location and quantity of corner and line posts • Location and size of all buildings enclosed with in or near your fence • Location for energizer and power source • Obstacles (trees, low/wet areas, utility lines) • Location and quantity of gates • Fence Termination points Keep these questions in mind during planning: • Will there be any sub-divisions or temporary fence? • What type of post will you be using? • What fence material (high tensile, polytape, polywire, etc)? • How many strands will you be running? • What type of gate(s) will you be using? There is a large variety of Powerfields products to allow your fencing project to stay flexible, but still serve the intended purpose! Use this chart for estimation purposes only. It is always the best practice to measure the fence line distance as accurately as possible in order to purchase the correct amount of materials. Remember when the fence around a square pasture is doubled in length there is four times as much land inside. An easy way to remember the square footage in an acre is to remember there are 640 acres in a square mile. (5280' x 5280' / 640 acre = 43560 ft 2 / acre).
